01 / What We Do

Scanning and Drilling

Understand the work area, then prepare the opening your project needs. Request scanning, core drilling, or both.

Concrete Scanning

Scanning helps locate reinforcement and other embedded features before concrete is drilled or cut. Surface markings make the findings visible where the work is planned.

  • Review the proposed work area
  • Mark findings on the concrete surface

Concrete Core Drilling

Circular openings through concrete walls and slabs for pipes, conduit and other building services. Each opening is planned around its location, dimensions and site access.

  • Core openings in concrete walls and floors
  • Penetrations for renovation and building services

Scan findings depend on the concrete, site conditions and equipment used. The scope is reviewed for each project.

03 / How It Works

How It Works

The sequence is tailored to the scanning and drilling work your project requires.

  1. Share the details

Send the site location, photos or drawings, and the work you need. Include opening sizes and quantities if known.

  2. Review the scope

We discuss locations, access, dimensions and scheduling to establish the work included in your quote.

  3. Scan & mark

For scanning work, the area is checked and findings are marked to help the project team review proposed locations.

  4. Core the opening

For drilling work, the equipment is positioned and the agreed concrete openings are drilled.

05 / Questions & Answers

FAQ

What is concrete scanning used for?

Scanning helps identify reinforcement and other embedded features in the work area before drilling or cutting. What can be detected depends on the equipment, concrete and site conditions; a scan is not a guarantee that every embedded object will be found.

Can I request scanning and drilling together?

Yes. Choose “Scanning + core drilling” in the quote form and describe the work. You can also request either service separately.

What information do you need for a quote?

Start with the site location and the service you need. For drilling, include the number and approximate diameter of openings, concrete thickness if known, and whether the work is in a wall or floor. Photos, drawings and access details help us review the request.

Can you confirm the opening size from photos?

Photos help with an initial review, but may not show the concrete thickness, access constraints or what is embedded inside. Required dimensions and site conditions need to be confirmed before the work is agreed.

What areas do you serve?

VV Renovation serves Greater Vancouver. Include the site city or address in your request so we can discuss the location and scheduling.
